Maybe you know the story? Judas is the one who ends up betraying Jesus to the authorities who kill him--and Judas does the betraying with, of all things, a kiss, which is the worst kind of wounding. But, Judas can't live with the shame of what he has done. It is unbearable. Shame always is.
Art making is powerful medicine, giving shape to things we are unable to put into words, often transforming them. And mixed media art making, with its many juxtaposing layers and textures, is just the right medium for expressing the complex nature of feelings of shame. These are the themes we will gently explore and give voice to over thecourse of six weeks through personal reflection, shared conversation andcontemplative, sensory creativity including writing and mixed media visual art making.
Week One: Power /Voice Week Two: Connection/Vulnerability Week Three: Seeing/Being Week Four: Anger/Need Week Five: Truth/Trust Week Six: Authenticity/Courage No writing or arts experience necessary. Cost: sliding scale: $90-240 for the series ($15-40 each session) Please plan to attend all 6 sessions. Pre-registration necessary: artandsoul.wm@gmail.com or call/text 413-348-2385
