ROLLING AWAY THE STONE Being Curious Together About Forgiveness 7 Thursday afternoons, 3:00-5:00pm March 5, 12, 19, 26, April 2, 9, 16 (We hope you will plan to attend as many as your schedule allows)
In 2014, Art & Soul began as a grant-funded year long public exploration of the concept and practices of Forgiveness. We held community reads of Desmond Tutu's ten newly-released The Book of Forgiving, offered booths of "confession" at local festivals and farmer's markets, unfolded a film festival and discussion series on the theme of Forgiveness. What we discovered over the course of the year was both fascinating and revealing. In 2020, the time feels right to return to this complicated, multi-layered theme, unpeeling more layers of understanding and experience as we continue to navigate very rough waters together during an election year.
Desmond Tutu's book remains the best primer I know to invite reflection and response on this subject. It will loosely serve as a guide to us as we meditate, discuss, share and, if you are so moved, to creatively respond to what emerges for us on this subject. ----------------------------------
