Riverside Cemetery in Sunderland, Massachusetts, is one of those "thin places," a small, very quiet, but potent place of memory and burial of white settlers nestled on the bank of the Connecticut River in the midst of working farm land. Many of the headstones here are from the 1700's.
I have walked there many times with my dogs in all kinds of weather and have often pondered what the stories were of those buried here, as well as the original inhabitants of the land who witnessed these settlers stealing their land.
Samhain. All Hallows Eve. All Saints. All Souls. Day of the Dead. This last day of October, beginning days of November, has an undeniable energy to it that is recognized by different spiritual traditions. It is the time when spirit and
