New In-Person Writing Series Begins June 9!
World Enough & Time: On Creativity and Slowing Down
“We called him tortoise because he taught us.” Lewis Carroll
For the last four and a half years, a small group of us have been meeting every Thursday evening, taking the time to read and write and come to center. Each session begins with a short meditation, followed by a reading (Grace Paley, William Maxwell, Mary Oliver...) and a shared discussion. There’s a short break, after which everyone writes for 25-30 minutes, at times inspired by the earlier reading, at times on topics of our own choosing. How did that go? For the last fifteen minutes we listen to what each of us has to say.
Our next 6-week series begins in person on Thursday, June 9, 16, 23, 30, July 7, 14 in Greenfield, MA at The Center for Spiritual Imagination, 479 Main Street, Greenfield.
If you would like to join us, please email christianmcewen@gmail.com. You can come for all 6 sessions if you are able, or just for two or three. Sliding scale: $30-40 per session
