Once upon a time, when I was very small, I dreamed of being an oceanographer so I could be at the beach and commune with whales.

Later, I discovered dance. Ballet. . A performing arts high school. 

Because of my abiding love of animals, I went to college seeking to become a veterinarian. I did not possess the imagination that there were many other ways in which to be with animals.

Early in my 20's I deep dived into death and dying.

In my late twenties, I had an encounter with Spirit that would change everything. I went to seminary and for the next (30) years, I dwelled in the land of progressive institutional Christian ministry as a church pastor, hospice chaplain and bereavement counselor.

I was in my 50's when I finally understood that my longing was to live in the surprising and unpredictable rhythm of Creativity and spiritual imagination. I untethered myself institutional ministry to explore the relationship between Spirituality and Creative Process. Longing to reclaim my sacred stories, I began to make altars from found objects as expressions of these stories. I began to create spacious, nonjudgemental time for people to explore their inner lives through Creative Process. I called this art & soul.I collaborated with many organizations.

art & soul was a physical space, too,  in which to gather and offer nurturing time and space to listen to your inner voice,

during the pandemic, a virtual space in which to connect wityh people all over the world. I offered Spiritual Companioning, Grief Tending, workshops and retreats throughout New England to a wide variety of organizations

Now I live in Midcoast Maine near the ocean.  I make Altars and Story Nests.  I am Artist-in-Residence and the Director of Belonging at Inn Along the Way, a collaborative community farm inviting aging independently, interdependently (www.innalongtheway.org). I create. I teach. I guide. I continue to offer Spiritual Companioning and Grief Tending. I continue to mentor those who are curious about the intersection of Spirituality and Creative Process.
