"With us is the potential to be fleshed out again, as the creature we once were. Within us are the bones to change ourselves and our world. Within us is the breath and our truths and our longings—together they are a song, the creation hymn we have been yearning to sing.” Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes
The Bone and Seed Tribe: Experiments in Naming and Claiming Voice on-going on Tuesday mornings , 10:00am-12:30pm @ The Nest, 11 Center Street, Northampton *please note, this is not a drop-in group. If you are interested in exploring being a part of this group, see below.
The original Bone and Seed group met for 5 months, from January through May 2018. We explored the voices of 5 extraordinarily attuned women: Artist Sister Corita Kent, Community-Builder Margaret Wheatley, Humanitarian Dr. Jane Goodall, Poet Mary Oliver and Cantadora Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes. As the women in the group listened deeply to the wisdom of these teachers though writing, creative expression and sharing, they began to hear their own voices emerge.
Bone and Seed has become an on-going small group where important things about our various paths of self/spiritual inquiry are shared. Our time is carefully facilitated and curated through a flow of reflective prompts, conversation writing, and expressive art making which lead us ever more deeply into the well of our inner stories. Sometimes we forget the richness and wisdom that dwells in us.
Our inspirations are wide: podcasts, film and video clips, poetry, sacred texts, music, silence, rituals small and big, news stories, and whatever the Spirit blows in.
At this time we can potentially accommodate 2 or 3 additional people in the Tuesday morning group. Most in the group are introverts who find quiet reflection necessary and all are comfortable and boundaried about good listening as part of the group process. If you are interested in being a part of Bone and Seed, please contact Susannah for a brief introductory chat.
